This Justino’s Madeira Colheita 1997 is produced from carefully chosen grape of Malvasia variety, which undergo a separate vinification process. The wine is then aged in oak casks under the canteiro process and bottled no sooner than 10 years after the date of the harvest.
Cracking good Madeira! Sweet malvasia with an astonishing acidity. Almost brown in color (very dark amber), blowing away nose of deep aged aromas (honeyed cane sugar, juicy raisins, varnishes..) & unexpectedly delicious on palate while razor sharp acidity & saltiness balances the sugar and alcohol (20°!), very long finish!
